Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost to attend Tree of Life Tallahassee?

*Please contact us directly for our fee schedule.

What is the school's operating hours?

We will be open from 7am until 6pm with the school day starting at 8am and ending at 3pm.  Aftercare is from 3pm until 6pm and is FREE to all students.

Do you accept scholarships and how can I find out if I qualify?

 * We accept Step up for Students and McKay scholarships.  To see if you qualify for Step Up please visit stepupforstudents.org.  Step Up has two main scholarships.  The first is an income-based scholarship and the second is the Gardiner scholarship that is available to certain students with varying special needs.  Step Up For Students has also added the Hope Scholarship for students who have been bullied in the public school system.  To qualify for a McKay scholarship the student would have to have a current IEP or 504 plan and have spent the last year in public school.

What if my student's scholarship is less than the tuition for the school?

Many students have scholarships that are a few hundred to a thousand dollars less than our tuition rate.  In most cases we are able to accept the amount and not expect parents to pay the rest out of pocket.  This is decided on a case-by-case basis by the Board.  Please don't let money keep you from calling and setting up a meeting!

I have a scholarship for my special needs child but his/her sibling doesn't qualify for a scholarship.  I want to keep them together in the same school.  Is there any help for a family like mine?

Tree of Life Tallahassee wants to see families stay together!  We can sometimes offer an in-house scholarship to siblings that would otherwise be left out.  Again, this is decided on a case-by-case basis.  Please call or email to set up a meeting with our administrator.

What if my student doesn't have a scholarship?

*Those who are "private pay" (with no scholarship) can either go on a 10-month payment plan or pay in full up front for a 10% discount.

Can my high school student earn college credits while pursuing their high school diploma?  What is the cost?

*We have an articulation agreement with TCC for dual enrollment for qualified high school students.  This is an opportunity for students to earn college credit before they graduate high school.  The college classes are free to the student.  There is a minimal fee that Tree Of Life Tallahassee pays to TCC but we do NOT pass this fee on to the student.

What curricula do you use?

*Our core curricula is comprised mostly of Abeka materials and some Saxon Math.

What qualifications do your teachers have?

*We have highly qualified teachers with proven track records of student success, and many of them hold exit degrees in their field (i.e., a Master's degree).

Do you teach the Bible at Tree of Life Tallahassee?

*Most importantly, our faith in Jesus is the center of all we do at Tree of Life Tallahassee.  We uphold the Bible and its teachings and try to instill a love for God in all we do.
